Depth
Portraits with space behind them — a character standing in weather they were never shot in, the background turned into its own living world.
What this collection is for
Once the segmenter carves the subject away from the plate, the image stops being flat. The person stands here; the world stands there; and you can put rain, fog, drift, or a whole rebuilt set between them. This is the difference between a picture and a place.
Use this collection to give a portrait somewhere to be — behind the eyes, around the shoulders, receding past the edge of frame. Every preset here needs a depth pass: run Person extraction or import a depth layer first, or the background and subject will have nothing to stand apart on.
What a preset actually is
A preset is a layered recipe, not a black box. Load one and you see exactly what it bound — every effect, its intensity, its target — and you can edit any of it. These were designed by someone making a particular kind of look on purpose.
The presets
- depth-matrix-operator — the subject in front, code raining down the world behind them.
- depth-dream-diorama — a face set into a soft handmade stage, everything behind it slightly unreal.
- depth-card-stack-reel — the scene split into sliding planes like cards fanned and pulled.
- depth-vertigo-punch — the background lunging while the subject stays, dread with a fist in it.
- depth-noir-stage — the figure lit on a dark set, depth swallowed by shadow behind.
- depth-hologram-portrait — the subject projected and floating, the world receding into interference.
- depth-surveillance-window — watched through glass, the background a room you are not in.
- depth-cyber-shrine — the face elevated like an icon, neon architecture stacked behind it.
- depth-mobile-parallax — the gentle layered drift of a phone tilted in the hand.
- depth-ghost-behind — something present in the background that the subject hasn't turned to see.
- depth-glass-city — a skyline of refracting towers receding behind the shoulders.
- depth-layer-peel-hit — the planes of the scene peeling off on a sharp beat.
- depth-orbit-poster — the background swinging around the subject like a one-sheet in motion.
- depth-echo-chamber — the figure repeating away into the distance, smaller and softer each time.
- depth-paper-theater — a cut-paper proscenium, the subject the only thing not made of card.
- foreground-drift — the subject easing forward while the world holds, a slow lean toward the viewer.
- z-flicker-memory — depth stuttering in and out, a recollection that won't stay fixed.
- behind-rain — weather falling strictly behind the subject, dry in front, drenched beyond.
- depth-static-floor — the figure standing on a ground of noise, the world below dissolving.
- z-shimmer-stack — layered planes catching light and trembling, depth made of foil.
- depth-ladder-reveal — the background stepping back rung by rung to uncover the subject.
- depth-scan-stairs-cyber — a scanning line climbing the depth like neon stairs behind the figure.
- depth-freeze-cut — the subject held while the background snaps to a hard stop.
- slice-occlusion-glitch — the seam between subject and world tearing into bands of error.
- backplate-glow-safe — a clean halo of light behind the subject, the background kept calm and lifted.
- depth-rim-portrait — a rim of light tracing the edge where subject leaves world, classic and quiet.
- depth-hinge-reel — the scene folding open on a hinge, foreground swinging away from back.
- parallax-counterspin-poster — foreground and background turning against each other, a graphic vertigo.
- occlusion-light-leak-cinema — light bleeding through the gap behind the subject, a leak in the seam.
- depth-refraction-glass — the background bent through glass, the subject left untouched and clear.
- depth-shadow-cast-noir — the subject throwing a long shadow into the world behind, hard and theatrical.
How to load one
Presets load from the Presets panel in the editor — loading one drops its full layer stack onto the timeline ready to edit; each of these needs a depth pass first, so run Person extraction or import a depth layer before you load them.
